# Installation

Step by step instructions on how to install the "DonutSMP Lifes" resource easily!

## 1. Install Skript

You can find information on how to install the Skript plugin [here](/docs/extra-information/skript.md#how-to-install-skript).

For the temp-ban plugin, you can use any plugin that contains a `/tempban <player>` command, but I would recommend usage of one the following:

* [Essentials ](https://essentialsx.net/)\[FREE]
* [AdvancedBan](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/advancedban.8695/) \[FREE]
* [LiteBans](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/litebans.3715/) \[PREMIUM]

If you wish to use Placeholder API to display a player's life count, you need to download both [PlaceholderAPI ](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/placeholderapi.6245/)& [skript-placeholders](https://forums.skunity.com/resources/skript-placeholders.909/), an addon for Skript, that allows skript variables to be displayed as placeholders.

After downloading all of the needed plugins, shut down your server & drag the .jar files into your server's plugins folder.\
After this, start your server back up.&#x20;

## 2. Install the Script

After downloading the resource from my BuiltByBit page & installing previously mentioned plugins,\
navigate to the "scripts" folder in Skript's directory - `home/plugins/Skript/scripts`

Now, upload the resource in said "scripts" folder.

## 3. Start your Server

After uploading the resource in to the "scripts" folder,\
start/restart your server & make sure that the Skript plugin has loaded.\

Make sure to check if there's a startup message registered in your console's log.\
It should look something like this:

## 4. Editing the Resource

## 5. Permissions & Commands

### Permissions:

Access all admin commands : `sk.lifes`

### Commands:

Add lifes to a player: `/lifes add <player> <amount>` \[sk.lifes]\
Remove lifes from a player: `/lifes remove <player> <amount>` \[sk.lifes]\
Reset a player's life count: `/lifes reset <player>` \[sk.lifes]\
Check a player's life amount: `/lifes check <player>` \[sk.lifes]\
Life eliminate a player: `/lifes ban <player>` \[sk.lifes]
